COVID-19 Vaccine FAQ

  • Does your pharmacy currently have the COVID-19 Vaccine available?
  • Not yet. We are awaiting approval and allocation supply from the State of Kansas.
  • When can I expect to receive my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine?
  • We are partnering with the federal and state government to administer the Covid-19 vaccine as it becomes available to the general public, following the CDC priority schedule. We do not have a start date at this time. Availability will depend on vaccine supply and the phased administration schedule dictated by the state.
  • What is the Vaccine Phase Schedule?
  • The CDC has created a public health priority schedule ensure highest risk patients are inoculated first. Our state is in Phase 1A. This includes healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities. Phase 1B will start soon thereafter, available for Kansans over the age of 65 with chronic medical conditions and pregnant patients. Subsequent phases are still under consideration. They will include lower risk populations. Please visit KDHE’s website for more information on each phase.
  • How will I know when it is my turn to receive the vaccine?
  • We encourage you to occasionally check our website for up-to-date info on our vaccination campaign. We will send a text alert and post on social media once we have the vaccine and can begin to schedule appointments. Be on alert to receive a text message or email from our staff inviting you to schedule an appointment for your dose.
  • How will you be administering vaccines?
  • We will administer vaccines by invitation and appointment in Phase 1A and 1B. Plans for administering phase 1C, 2, and 3 are currently under consideration. We are mandated to follow public health guidelines to prioritize the limited supply.
  • Does my doctor recommend the COVID-19 Vaccine?
  • You should check with your provider but most physicians strongly urge patients to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Tell your vaccination provider about all your medical conditions, including if you have any allergies, have a fever, have a bleeding disorder or are on a blood thinner, are immunocompromised or are on a medicine that affects your immune system, are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, have received another COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Do I still need to get vaccinated if I have already had and recovered from Covid-19?
  • Yes, the CDC recommends that you should be offered the vaccine even after infection. However, you should wait 90 days have passed since infection.
  • Where can I learn more information about the vaccine?
  • The CDC's comprehensive FAQ sheet is a great resource. You may access it here.
